Disciplining students with disabilities presents extra challenges due to the competing interests of school safety and individual rights, but also the federal protections guaranteed under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Education Act.

This session by expert speakers Lori Kirsch-Goodwin, Esq. and Hope N. Kirsch, Esq. will provide guidance to school administrators and educators in public schools, charter schools and private schools, and others who are involved in disciplining students to ensure discipline procedures are legally compliant.
